Growth factor

Ariessence pure PDGF+

Recombinant PDGF-BB laid onto skin the moment the channels are open — less downtime, and a measurably better result than healing on its own.

The only growth factor in aesthetics with a randomised controlled trial behind it — and the reason Alla stocks it rather than a generic post-procedure serum.

What is pure PDGF?

PDGF — platelet-derived growth factor — is the signal your body sends to a wound to start rebuilding it. It recruits the cells that lay down collagen and it brings blood supply to the area. It is not a new idea in medicine: PDGF has been in therapeutic use for nearly three decades across FDA-approved products for wound and bone healing.

Ariessence is that growth factor made recombinantly — grown, not harvested — at a purity and concentration you cannot get from a blood draw, and suspended in sterile hyaluronic acid. Four ingredients in total: water, sodium acetate, hyaluronic acid and the PDGF itself.

It goes on immediately after a treatment that has opened microscopic channels in the skin — microneedling, RF microneedling, a laser or a peel. That window is the whole point: the same molecule applied to intact skin would never get past the barrier.

Pairs well with

Microneedling opens the channels, PDGF goes in through them. That pairing is what the published trial actually studied.

Benefits

  • Cuts visible post-procedure downtime — redness settles noticeably faster
  • Measurably better aesthetic result at 30 days than healing with emollient alone
  • No blood draw, no centrifuge, no waiting — unlike PRP
  • Sterile and recombinant, so the dose is identical every single time
Ideal for
Anyone having microneedling or RF who wants less downtimePeople who want the PRP effect without a needle in their armClients whose skin heals slowly or reddens easily

What to expect

Start to finish, so there are no surprises on the day.

  1. 1
    Before

Nothing extra to prepare. The base treatment — microneedling, RF or a peel — is booked and prepped as normal.

  2. 2
In the room · under a minute

The PDGF syringe and the hyaluronic acid are combined at the chairside, immediately before application. It is never pre-mixed.

  3. 3
    Straight after the treatment

Applied to the open skin while the channels are still there. This is a short window and it is the entire reason the product works.

  4. 4
    Hours 1–24

Redness settles faster than it would otherwise. The trial photographs document the difference at one hour, three hours and one day.

  5. 5
    Day 30

The point at which the blinded assessors in the trial found a significant difference against plain emollient. This is a healing-quality treatment, not an overnight one.

How it works

01

Your base treatment

Microneedling, RF microneedling or a peel is performed as normal.

02

Mixed at the chairside

PDGF and hyaluronic acid are combined in the room, under a minute, immediately before use.

03

Applied while open

Laid onto the skin the moment the channels are open, when it can actually reach living tissue.

Pricing
$250added to a treatment

Applied on top of microneedling, RF microneedling or a peel. Priced as an add-on because it is never done alone — it is what goes on the skin the moment the channels are open.

What would change this plan

Standard contraindications and precautions for this treatment — the questions you should expect from anyone offering it.

  • Are you pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding? Not while you're pregnant or nursing.
  • Have you ever had a severe allergic reaction — to a medication, an anaesthetic, or a previous injectable? Alla needs the details before anything is planned.
  • Do you take blood thinners, or daily aspirin? Not a barrier — a planning point.
  • Right now, do you have a cold sore, a skin infection, or an active breakout where you'd want treatment? Wait until the skin is clear.
  • Do you have an autoimmune condition, or take medication that suppresses your immune system? Usually workable, always discussed.
  • Do you scar badly — raised, thickened or keloid scars? Changes which resurfacing is sensible.
  • Have you taken isotretinoin (Accutane, Roaccutane) in the last six months? Wait it out.

04

Aftercare

The short list that protects your result. You'll get this in writing too.

  • Nothing on the skin for 24 hours except what you are given
  • SPF 30+ daily — new skin burns fast
  • No acids or retinoids for five days
  • Do not wash the face for the rest of the day
05

Myths, straightened out

What clients arrive believing — and what's actually true.

It's the same as PRP, just more expensive.
Different mechanism. PRP is a broad mix of your own growth factors at whatever concentration your blood gives that day. This is one growth factor, recombinant, at a standardised high dose — and no needle in your arm.
A growth factor serum from a shop does the same thing.
Retail serums cannot cross an intact barrier and most contain growth factors at concentrations too low to signal anything. This is applied through open channels, which is the only route that reaches living tissue.
Growth factors are unproven in aesthetics.
Most are. PDGF is the exception — nearly thirty years of therapeutic use, four FDA-approved medical products, and a randomised trial in aesthetics specifically.

How this is handled here

What people actually arrive saying, and the approach taken — not individual patient histories.

Microneedling + PDGF$600 + $250 add-on

“I can’t take three days of redness”

The concern

The most common reason microneedling gets postponed indefinitely. The usual workaround — treating more gently — buys less downtime by delivering less result.

The approach
  • Treatment performed at full parameters; nothing softened to shorten recovery
  • Ariessence pure PDGF+ applied immediately, while the channels are still open
  • Nothing else on the skin for 24 hours
  • Scheduled with a buffer day, which is often not needed
Why

Healing is accelerated rather than the treatment being diluted. This is the pairing the published randomised trial actually studied.

General approach only. Individual results vary and every plan is decided at consultation.

07

Frequently asked

How is this different from PRP?

PRP is your own platelets, spun down — the concentration depends on your blood on that day. Ariessence is recombinant PDGF-BB at a known, standardised concentration, with no draw and no centrifuge. The trade-off is that PRP carries a broad mix of growth factors, while this is one of them, pure and at high dose.

Is there evidence, or is this marketing?

There is a randomised, evaluator-blinded trial (Gold, 2025, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology) comparing pure PDGF against plain emollient after RF microneedling. The PDGF group scored significantly better on the blinded clinical improvement score at thirty days, and better on six of seven objective imaging metrics.

Can I have it on its own?

No, and anyone offering it as a standalone facial is misunderstanding it. It works because it is applied through channels that a treatment has just created. On intact skin it cannot reach the tissue that matters.

Is it injected?

No. It is a topical cosmetic product and is used exactly that way here. It is not approved for injection and is not injected in this practice.

Priced as an add-on to microneedling, RF microneedling or a peel, because it is never performed alone.
